Love at Sight

A moment in poetry

I look up from my pain, yet see only light,
a smile that draws joy from hopeless despair.

There is no intent beyond your gaze,
no agenda pursued in your sharing eyes,
just love at sight, the first and all others,
with no purpose beyond that of care.
You seek no fulfillment, above the desire,
for happiness to reign, in the heart of a friend.

I hope that I too, can solace provide,
silence speaking loudly, where words only fail.
